Help me sell DH on a new carrier

We have a Moby, mei tai, and baby bjorn. I wear DS in the moby and mei tai, but DH prefers the bjorn. I have noticed the baby bjorn getting a lot of criticism lately for being a "crotch-dangler." I told DH about the risks of hip dysplacia and general discomfort of the baby bjorn, but he wants some evidence.

Can you share some (preferrably academic, peer-reviewed, science-y links) that will help convince DH we should get an Ergo?

Feel free to suggest something similar to an Ergo if you know of something better. I want something that is a little more masculine for DH that is very simple to use.

Is he just about cost/not spending money? Maybe if you find a used one for cheaper he would be on board? I've seen a few around here on Craigslist and at mom swap type sales.

I showed DH a diagram of a baby's hips in the bjorn style vs supported to the knees then I took him to a store that specialized in babywearing. He ended up trying on 4 and choosing one I didn't even know existed (Chimparoo). He loves being able to wear LO
