Me: Max, short for Maxwell.

DH: Max, short for Maximus or John Maxwell ( his name is John and he is a Jr. so it would carry the John but we could call the baby Max)

I am the type that finds it weird when people name their kid one thing and call him/her something else. I would use John as the middle name.

I personally LOVE Maxwell and it is on my baby name list I keep on my phone lol! I really think that Jr.s and II's are nice and I think that John Maxwell sounds very distinguished for when he's an adult, and Max is a nice nickname!

I love Maxwell. It would be on our list if it wasn't my parents' dog's name. I'm not a fan of Maximus or JRs. What about Maxwell John? Maybe that would be a good compromise!
