Car seat for compact car.

My husband and I are looking for a convertible car seat that will fit in my car. I drive a Chevy Aveo and have very little room with an infant carrier. Right now we are making do with the Baby Trend infant carriers, but my passenger seat has to be pushed all the way forward. We are making a trip from VA to GA and it is a 12 hour drive. We would all like to be comfortable and neither me nor my husband need to sit that close to the dash board. My plan is to buy a convertible car seat and put it in the middle. I have looked at the Combi Coccoro car seats and I like them but they are pricey. Do any of you ladies own the Combi Coccoro convertible seat? If so do you like it? Any suggestions for other car seats? TIA

If you're using your infant carrier with the base, try taking out the base and just belting the carrier in - it may buy you a few more inches and make the drive more comfortable without needing to buy a convertible yet. Worth a shot, at least!

My car is a little bigger, (a ford focus 2012), but I can fit the radian in the middle and it tucks between the front seats, so that the front seats can be back a reasonable amount. I would prefer the radian over the coccoro since the coccoro is small

We have a Maxi Cosi Priori in my husbands Acura TSX. Rear facing in the center position, fits great. Plus we really like the carseat.
