Pumping ?

So I EP and it is getting super annoying, but I really want to give DS BM until at least a year, so I want to modify my current pumping schedule while affecting my supply the least. I currently pump: 7, 9, 11, 1, 3, 5, 7, 10, 2:30....would it most likely affect my supply less if I dropped a pump thinking 3 if I do or if I respace the pumps to 7, 10, 1, 4, 7, 10, 2:30? If I drop a pump I'm thinking about dropping one every month starting at 7 months because DS has finally been willing to take formula as of yesterday which is why I'm waiting a few more weeks to make any changes.
Sorry for bad punctuation, etc I'm on mobile

Re: Pumping ?

  • I don't have an answer for you but I just want to say WOW.  I hate my pump and the 3 times I do it at work suck.  Bravo to you for being so dedicated to it!  I don't think I could do it 9 times a day.

  • I would recommend you contact your local Le Leche League. They helped me a ton! I still don't have it all figured out, but know I can rely in them as LCs.

  • I pump six times a day, including now, and haven't had a huge drop off. I cut the middle of the night one first and then dropped the late afternoon one that was hard to juggle with all of ds' activities. I spaced out the droppings by a couple of weeks and

  • You are a rockstar. I EP'd for 5 months and had to give it up because pumping 5 times a day (and none of them were at night) was too much for me. I think you could drop one of the night pumps and be okay.

  • If it were me, I would keep the morning pumps at the 2 hour interval, space the afternoon and evenings out so you drop a pump.

I'm most productive in the morning, so I nurse DD somewhere between 5 and 7, power pump for an hour or so (intervals)

  • Is there any way you could drop the MOTN one? I notice at work if I pump every 3 hours or every 4, it evens out to the same amount of milk, so I can space out a bit. How often does your DS eat? And do you get enough at each pumping session for a full b

  • I am down to pumping every 6 hours. 7 and 1, and 7 and 1. I pump for about 30 minutes each and had no significant supply drop.
I started with 12 pumps a day and just kept making the spaces in between bigger every few weeks. At 3 months i did 8 pump
