Just got a note that April 12th is picture day at Chris's school. He goes to a special needs school so I assume they have experience with less than cooperative kids but I have no idea how Chris is going to be that day.
Any tips on how we can prepare him for this?

Well, at DS' school, they let you choose the background for your child's picture, so I let DS choose. He chose "pink swirl."

I hate picture day too. Part of me thinks I should buy a ridiculously overpriced package because it is a right of passage or milestone marker, but another part of me doesn't need a reminder that my kid cannot smile and why the f should I pay for that?<
I treat picture day as any ordinary day but of course it is going to throw off routine. I think they only have picture day to raise money for the school. I would understand if DS's pictures came out horrible, I would not buy them.

Thanks for the tips guys. Mostly it's because he can't sit still to save his life and if you force it, 3..2..1.. boom! I said to DH today that in the class pic Chris'll be the one being carried or somehow held by one of the teachers.
