Moving LO to toddler bed?

I have no idea if this has been asked recently (since the search function is lame) but has anyone been considering moving their LO to a toddler bed yet? Or has anyone done this yet? Since we are expecting LO #2 later this year, we are gearing up to think about moving her in the next few months to get her used to it before the LO comes along. Just wondering if anyone had success yet? Or is there any way to know when is a good time? DD has not tried to climb out of her crib yet. I'm just not looking forward to her being able to roam around the room by herself, so not sure what to expect. Thanks!

    We are going to try and make the switch sometime in May.  The only reason is because I'm due in July and don't want to buy another crib.

    I'm leaving DS1 in his crib until he starts climbing out. He has a convertible set so he would keep it regardless.

    We bought a 2nd crib for DS2.

    BFP 5/21/10, Missed m/c 7/5/10 at 11w3d (baby measured 7wks), D&C 7/7/10

    Aug/Sept 2010 - CD3&10 b/w & u/s, genetic testing, SA, HSG, & Lap/Hyst to remove septum

    12/09/10 BFP -- 7/05/11 DS born at 33w5d. Came home after 23d in NICU at 37w0d

    June 2012 - TTC #2! -- 10/05/12 BFP --  5/23/13 DS2 born at 37w1d! Yay full term!

    Surprise BFP 6/25/14 LO#3 due Feb2015!

    I moved my daughter to a twin mattress about 3 weeks ago and it is the best thing we did. She sleeps through the night now. We original switched her crib to a toddler bed but she kept falling out of the bed. Now she just sleeps on a twin mattress on the f
