background: I had breast reduction surgery about 7 years ago, and was given a 50/50 chance of successful breastfeeding. My son was born 3 weeks ago, and I was thrilled to get colostrum out of both breasts.
I got tons of help from the LCs at the hospital, and my son had a great latch. When we went home, the trouble started. My milk didn't come in till day 5, and even then I never got engorged or anything. My son was getting fussy at feelings, and most importantly was not giving us the recommended number of diapers like, 2 pees in 24 hours, so we had to start supplementing with formula.
I started the whole nurse, supplement, pump thing and only get about 2 ounces a day from pumping that's only from left breast. The right gives me nothing. then my son started refusing to nurse, so I've been pumping and giving formula bottles. I've tried fenugreek, upping water intake, etc.
Sorry this is so long!
Basically, my question is: do you think it's worth it to pump all day for maybe 2 oz of breast milk on a good day?

Re: What would you do?
Do you think it's worth it? Do you enjoy breastfeeding? Is it important to you that baby get that 2 oz? I think if you are happy, then it's fine. If it's causing you more trouble than you think it's worth and you are unhappy and
I agree with PPs that you have to decide if it's worth it to you... I did want to share a quick version of my experience though, because it sounds similar to yours.
We had to start supplementing formula at day 5 or 6 because DD wasn't getting eno
