I don't post much but I wanted to share by birth story since it was a little different especially since this was my first birth.
I got my membranes stripped at my 40 week appointment which was February 15th. I was also almost 4cm and was 80 percent effaced. I had some bleeding and cramping all weekend but nothing too bad...Just for some background.
Well I woke up on the 17th at 3am with slight contractions and some more bleeding which I thoguht was still from getting my membranes stripped. I let my husand sleep cause I figured even if this was "it" we still had plenty of time. Well I started timing contractions and they were 5 minutes apart. We called the hosipital and they told us to come in. On the way to the hosipital my contractions were back to back and I was in a TON of pain.
By the time we got there I knew something wasn't "normal". I was trying to fill out paperwork but I could barely do it then finally I had the urge to push. They rushed me into the room and I was already at 10cm and I guess my water had broken as I was getting into bed. Wayne's heartbeat was dropping so they told me I had to push and get him out now or I was getting a csection.
So my husband was parking the car at 4:45am while I was being rushed into the room (we know this cause he texted his mom) and we delivered him at 5:12am with a good couple pushes and some help with the vacuum.
It was pretty scary, intense, and fast but in the end we have a healthy boy that was 8lbs 4oz. They said one reason he came so fast is they think my placenta erupted (which caused the bleeding). In the end I didn't get the epidural I wanted because we didn't have time and they said if I waited longer I could have had him at home or in the car....
We are so lucky to have this little man and we love his SO much! I just wanted to share my story
