Bedsharing ?

I saw in that other post that a lot of you taught your babies to crawl out of bed safely.

I have a one year old who has bedshared since birth and no one I know does it, so I had no idea you could teach them to get out of bed so young! How do you do it?

  • As soon as my LOs can crawl, I teach them to go "feet first" off furniture, steps etc.

    Basically everytime they approach the edge of something I turn them around and say, 'feet first" Initially I need to guide their feet off the edge of it, so th

  • What PP said. We just made lowering him backwards, sliding on his belly to get off the bed, the way we always got him out of bed. He started doing it himself pretty quickly, and we spotted him for a few weeks and now he climbs off like a champ.

  • Yep - we did the same as the last two ladies.  Started teaching him as soon as he was mobile enough to control which way his body was facing.  I was also comfortable with co-sleeping and teaching him how to get out of bed bc our bed is only 2 fe
