I had to get this ball rolling.

This is a real phone call I had last week:

Me: Hello

Him: Is this ******* *****stein?

Me: Yes it is

Him: Are you a Jew?

Me: Excuse me? - **I thought I heard him wrong**

Him: Are you Jewish?

Me: No... How can I help you sir?

Him: Well your name ends in 'stein' and all Jewish names end like that.

Me: No, I'm sorry, it's German, and it' my husbands name and his family is all Roman Catholic.

Not that it was any of his business. I almost hung up on him. And yes, the call was to my personal cell phone. Turns out I did need to speak with him, but I doubt I will be doing business with him in the future.
