Food Allergy

Starting solids

DD has mspi, eczema, and is always rubbing her face. She's EBF but is 6m next week and I'm super nervous to start solids. DD#1 never had any issues so I'm not sure what to expect ( DH has loads of food sensitivity issues, but it doesn't run in my side of the family, if that matters). Any advice on starting solids with a baby who may have some allergies? What should I look for? Anything you would avoid right off the bat? We're going to do BLW.

Re: Starting solids

  • Start with mild veggies and fruits. Always waiting 4 or 5 days before introducing a new food to catch a reaction. I did sweet potatoes, squash, apples and pears as our first foods. If you are doing BLW then just offer what you eat, in very small and so

Thanks for the response! Does rubbing it on the skin first work? We have her 6m checkup next week and the dr said we will have a lengthy food discussion, so I may be back with more questions then!
