I feel bad for my hostess.

She advised me she's only gotten 3 RSVP's (50 invites sent - HUGE, close family). The shower is on 4/7. She did forget to put an RSVP date, but she also put her email and phone number and "Please RSVP". I feel bad because she wants to plan accurately as she is on a budget (still feels weird to have someone spending money on me like this). I know she is also ordering the favors from an online store and I don't want her to over buy for previously said reasons.

I just don't understand when RSVPing became so hard. Especially when an email address is provided.

Sorry I'm venting. I just feel terrible for her and the fact that there is nothing I can personally do.

It's still over 2.5 weeks away! It's a shower, not a wedding. I've never put an RSVP date down for more than 1 week for a shower.

Next weekend she can start contacting the non-RSVPers. Even though she didn't put down a date, I think

People do suck at RSVPing these days, but it's still very early. For a shower, it's pretty typical for people to RSVP at the last minute, the week before or even the week of.

I do realize there is still some time. I dunno, I just feel bad for her. She said for her shower her hostess got responses within days. And well I've never hosted one so I have no idea...

I think it's fine for your mom to call but she should wait at least a week before doing so.

Honestly, I'm not sure why you feel so bad for your hostess. When I get a shower invitation, I'm focused on WHO the shower is for.&nbs

I feel bad because it just feels weird for someone to be hosting and spending money on me/LO. Plus, because she wanted to order things and had everything in her head of whats she wanted but just needed a number.

Personally, I RSVP as soon as I know I can attend an event but without an "RSVP by ..." date she's kind of stuck waiting for the one-week mark.

People apparently forget what RSVP means. For my bridal shower and wedding, we had to make calls when the RSVP date passed. It stinks, but it's the way things seem to go these days.

My shower is also on 4/7 and my mom has only received 4 RSVP's so far. She keeps mentioning it, but I don't think it's a big deal. People always wait until the last minute (even I'm guilty of doing that)

Having planned a wedding and other parties, it is a total pain when people don't RSVP but my guess is she will get the RSVPs rolling in within the week.

One suggestion that might take a little stress off her - tell her not to worry about
