Milkies...breastmilk bags vs. nursing pads.

As a FTM I was wondering if they are a worth while purchase or should I stick to traditional breast pads . I have heard most moms are using them while nursing on the other side. Are they easy to use? Comfortable? Can you wear them during the day not just during feedings? And how well do the store the milk?

Thanks in advance for any answers or advice.

  • I personally never leaked enough to need the storage bags, seems to me that you would need to leak a ton to make those worth while. But if I was someone who leaked a lot out of the other breast while feeding I would want to be able to save it, that stuff

  • I didn't know about them til a month AFTER I gave birth. I was a leaker big time and really wanted to give them a shot. However I didn't get around to finding them til baby was about 3 months at which point I was not leaking as much so I didn't get them.

  • I leaked with DS and found Milkies at a baby store in my town and decided to give it a try. For me it was awesome -- I leaked up to an ounce on each side everytime I nursed (sometimes more), so it helped to build up my freezer stash in those early days

  • Thanks so much mommies. I think I will grab a pack just in case and see if works for. Traveling to a store shortly after baby does not sound like fun. Good advice to grab both the pads and Milkies.

  • I leaked 2oz out of one breast while tending to the other. I loved my Milkies. However, I did not use them as regular breast pads during the day....I just slipped it in during feedings.
