What did you do for their first birthday?

In just over three weeks my boys will be 1 year old!  It's so hard to believe.  For those of you with older preemies, did you do anything special that helped your healing?  Therapy has helped me a lot and I'm looking forward to celebrating this milestone, but I know I still have more healing to do.  I'd like ideas for how other people celebrated.

Right now the only big thing I have planned is a special cake smash photo.  Our boys were born on my husband's birthday and one thing that got me through in the beginning was imagining a photo of the three of them a year later.

Diagnosed with DOR, LP defect, mild endometriosis and cysts
BFP #1 EDD 9/10/11, natural miscarriage at 6w
BFP #2 Medicated cycle, twin boys born 4/4/12 at 29w4d
BFP #3 EDD 8/8/14, D&C for missed miscarriage at 8w, baby boy with triploidy

    I made a nicu slide show/video for them. I cried all along the way when I was making it but it was really healing to do. On their actual birthday we counted down to the actual hour and minute of their birth and sang them happy each happy birthday. Othe

    Same as PP, made a year book for her including a ton of NICU photos. Also it's been so fun focusing on her birthday party, which is Saturday, and looking back and celebrating the year we all went through. Don't get me wrong I have had my breakdowns! Also

    We had a party about a week before.  I made a slideshow for that and we did cake, etc.

    And congrats on 1 year!  It is a time filled with so many emotions and reflections.  Let yourself feel all of those things... its all part of the healing :)

Confirmed second miscarriage, no heartbeat, no growth beyond 7 weeks, 5/19/09. TTC again, on baby aspirin, due to value of 23 on Anticardiolipin Antibodies. BFP 11/15/09.
