Challenge: bad guys

Currently DD is OBSESSED with the big bad wolf. Every day she has to read about him, watch cartoons about him, sing songs about him, and huff and puff and blow down block towers like him. It?s gotten borderline worrisome.

Plus she is enamored with other ?bad guys,? she has two favorites fromthe animated spider-man show (thanks for that DH) the Rhino and the Lizard, plus she loves ?looking for? dinosaurs and dragons around the house. (I know I posted about how there is a dragon in the living room wall that DH had to ?have a talk with? so that it would be nice and friendly.)

Anyway, what is with this obsession with scary bad guys. And she will let you know that they are mean or grumpy or scary, but that she is not afraid of them?

    I think this is really cute and kind of amusing that she likes the "bad guys".  I also think it is great that she isn't afraid of them.  I think I would exploit this and tell her how brave she is all the time for finding the dragons and makin

    I wonder if maybe she is reassuring herself. Like there is somewhere inside of her that IS a little afraid, but by calling them out and saying "that's not scary!" she fixes those feelings.  If that's the case, that's very advanced emotionally!

    My son is obsessed with princesses and pink! It's funny what they get latched on to. I think it's great she isn't afraid and as long as she doesn't start idolizjng their actions I wouldn't worry about it.

    I think it's good.  B is definitely more on the afraid side of things.  He likes to talk about scary things, but when he sees them (like the sleeping lion at the zoo) he gets nervous and wants to be picked up.
