I have a Moby and an Ergo with the infant insert and have been testing them at home to see how they work. DD did the newborn hug hold in the Moby only twice and then hated it so I tried the Kangaroo hold this morning and she seemed a little more content. In the Moby and the Ergo, I wonder if her head is too close to her chest while she is sleeping? It's not totally tilted down and I can fit a finger between her head and neck. And I can hear her breathing. But sometimes it just looks like its too chin to chest, but that might just be me being over paranoid.
Also, do any of you nurse in either of these carriers? I saw a video about nursing with the Ergo and infant insert and they just loosened the arm straps and did it that way, but I tried and I feel like DD is scrunched up all weird and not at a great angle to get her latched on. It'd be great if I could figure out how to because the Ergo is what we use when I'm out and if I could feed her without taking everything off and on again, that'd be great!
Re: Two carrier questions
I can't remember what moby calls which hold but you can definitely do legs out in the moby from birth so do try that (I think maybe the hug hold vs. the newborn hug although maybe they renamed it?).
For the ergo - is she positioned on your chest
