So I ended up getting AF yesterday which is good and bad. Bad, because I didn't get pregnant, but good because it means my cervix has remained open from my surgery in February! We were initially suppose to wait 3 months after the surgery before we try IUI, but the doctor gave the okay to start right away. I dont think she is very confident that my cervix will remain open much longer, and once it scars closed again then we need to repeat a surgery to reopen followed with IUI. We have our IUI consult on Thursday morning so I will be on CD4, not sure if that means we will try for IUI this month, or next but I'm excited regardless. When I had my cervical surgery & lap/endo she looked over everything else and she said my cervix is my only competition and everything else looks great! We just need to help the swimmers get past all the scar tissue, so I am going to be cautiously optimistic
On a side note, the culprit of all this drama was a Leep I had in 2006. I just read a news article (from Mayo clinic) that 40% of parents are refusing to allow their daughters to get vaccinated with gardasil which prevents the the HPV infection which causes essentially 100% of cervical cancers... It also says 50% of all americans (male and female) get infected at least once with the HPV infection in their lifetime, but the body can typically clear it on its own. Mine unfortunately didn't, so thats why I needed a Leep. A leep can cause a variety of cervical problems in pregnancy, some being mild to severe... I think that young women should be educated about the vacine and be able to come to their own conclusions on if they want the vaccine or not.
Just my opinion...
