Talking poll again.

I usually regret reading these "How much is your toddler saying" polls but I'm starting to get a wee bit worried, which I fully accept that it makes me a hypocrite since I'm usually the first to say don't worry about it. Reading about the little things your Los are saying and doing makes me think Sophia is a little behind most of your toddlers. So, here it goes. How much is your LO saying?

  • I worry about this all the time but pedi wasn't too concerned. He knows all his animals sounds, hey, snow, truck, no, yeah, row row row as in the song, whoa. Nothing major yet thought. He barely says mama and dada. DH wants me to call pedi again. I might
  • Spontaneously she says: no, daddy, dog, and water.  She will repeat lots of things though: mama, her body parts, and other animal names.  She is more chatty with others than she is with me which drives me nuts.

     I agree that

  • Nina says mama, dadda, kitty, night night, hi and hey, bye, ouch, Nina, bubba that is what she calls our dog buck. At her 18 month appointment her pedi said they like to see 8 to 10 words but that 6 was average.

  • She's picked up a lot of words over the past 2 months, but most of it would sound like gibberish to the untrained ear. Also, we're not doing 2-word phrases yet.

  • I mean, she says a lot of words. Some, only me and Dh would understand. I'm having trouble articulating my actual concern. I also feel like there's a good chance, because of Ds, that I'm looking too hard for red flags, KWIM? I get if you look hard enough

  • He is not really talking any more than he was at his 18 month appt. I am going to try and not worry about it right now. He understands plenty even if he doesn't turn it into words.
  • Dh and I wrote down all the words she says the other day. I think she is at 50ish.

She has been putting a few words together, "I wannnnnaaa go bye bye", is her usual.

Most of the time though, we understand her more than any

  • We actually have an appt next week for a speech referral. I can let you know what happens when we go if you like. Max only knows a small handful of words and most of them occurred after his 18 month appt. He understands a ridiculous amount.of what we say,

Ehh, DS doesn't say a lot. He tends to babble. He probably has 15 words but doesn't use them all in the same day.

  • In the last month DD's vocab has exploded. I was a little worried before that. I know she has more words than I can remember, but here are some of the ones she says without being prompted:
