Babies: 9 - 12 Months

question for moms with several children

As my LOs first birthday quickly approaches, I'm so excited to see what the next year brings. So for the moms that have some previous experience, was the second year more or less challenging? Is it apples or oranges comparing year 1 and year 2? What are some of your favorite moments or memories of year 2? I know all children are different, but what are some things I should know or could be helpful in this toddler transition? TIA

  • The years are very different, just thinking of how much development goes on blows my mind.

I think DD's second year was easier to parent bc she was sleeping through the night and taking regular naps.  She could walk well making her mo

  • Say goodbye to your sweet baby!.  My son was like a baby stunt double.  It is like he would get on top of the coffee table and then he would fall off.  And he would fall and hit his head.  So you have to be more careful with th

  • I also liked the Free Spirit Publishing boardbooks.  It had some good ideas. I think that with a baby that you cannot really discipline them.  But with a toddler, there is more definitely more discipline involved as a parent.

  • The next year is entirely different.  Think about how much your baby has changed from months 1-3 to months 9-12.  In the second year, your baby will show much more agency-LO will want to explore, to choose, and will show even more personality

  • Thanks ladies. I just bought the happiest toddler on the block. I'll check that out. And I love the link to those books. Definitely will have to get those. I'm so excited! I love the emerging personality and he's walking everywhere now. It's so fun! Infa
