Trouble TTC

RE thinks he found the culprit but I am skeptical

My HSG showed a possible polyp and my RE confirmed with a SIS . So he started me on birth control and is going to remove the polyp at the end of the month. He actually said " we found the culprit" and plans on letting us go (back to trying on our own) after the surgery. He explained that it could be acting like an natural IUD.

What do you guys think? Could such a small little "skin tag" really be preventing implantation.  Sounds too good to be true...

Also, I haven't been ruled out for endo. When he does the hysteroscopy, will he be able to spot endo?

I plan on asking him at my pre-op appointment but was eager to hear your opinion.

Me 30, DH 34: cd3 blood work wnl, progesterone wnl, SA normal, TTC 15 cycles all BFN.

Re: RE thinks he found the culprit but I am skeptical

  • I had a small fibroid and was told the same thing, that it could've been preventing implantation. So yes it's definitely possible that it was playing a role. However my RE can't be sure that it was the only factor keeping us from conceiving so we're goi

  • Interesting to hear your experience as I have just been determined to have uterine polyps as per my SHG yesterday. DH and I have yet to have our diagnosis consult with our RE, but between this and my fibroid, my RE has already pretty much said he belie

  • imagerox825:
A hysteroscopy will only allow the dr to see inside the uterus, so he or she won't be able to tell whether you have endo

  • Also thanks Sha and Megs for your insight. It is interesting to hear everyone's perspective. My RE didn't mention a lap to check for endo. I'll have to bring this up at my pre-op appointment. My surgery is scheduled for 3/29. Please keep me updated on you
