I haven't been on the Bump in a while. I happened to take a look today and was very excited to see this board.
I'm Michelle. I'm 37 and DD is 18 months. My husband and I decided to only have one child due to a whole host of reasons including fertility issues, problems during labor with DD, genetic factors found during my pregnancy, our age, and our jobs/child care situation. The list of cons far outweighted the list of pros for having another child. Maybe when DD is a little older we'll change our minds but right now neither of us can see that happening.
When I tell people that I'm "one and done" I get the usual list of reasons why I should have more. The most common one is that DD needs a sibling to grow up with and then be friends with when she's older. While this is a nice thought, I know too many siblings that don't get along or flat out hate each other. So not a vaild argument. Another common one is that DD will be lonely growing up. To this I tell them that I'm an only child, and I don't really have memories of being particularly lonely.
Anyway, that's my intro. I look forward to getting to know everyone!

Hi and welcome!
We are also keeping our options open for a few years, but 99% one and done.
