How many "onlys" do you know?

We do NOT live in an area where there are a lot of only children. I know 3 off the top of my head...out of all the people I know. Two 8/9 year olds like DD and one 12 year old who lives around the corner from us. When I look out my door, the houses I see have 4, 6, 2, 4, 3 and around the corner 2, 3, 4.

3 seems to be the number around here. Or 4. We live in a great school district...best in the state actually. I really think people just think they'll have as many as possible since school is good and free. LOL

There are some in my family.

But... none really in my neighborhood? None at my daughters bus stop, they all have siblings. None of my daughters close classmates are onlys.

We only know one other family with 1. Most of DSs friends are in his age range by +/- 6 months, but since then, most of the families have added 2, 3 and sometimes a 4th child.

I actually know quite a few people who have only one child and are not planning for more. Including one of my sisters. It seems to be quite the trend around here.

That's been the nice thing about the area I live in. It's a lot more families that are O&D, so it's nice to be the "norm." But if I lived anywhere else, it would be a different story but I doubt it would change our minds at this time.
