Long shot:Pregnancy and traveling without a vaccine

So my BFF just found out she is pregnant, and she has a trip scheduled to a place where they suggest a yellow fever vaccine.  The vaccine is not safe for pregnant woman, so she isn?t sure what she should do. 

 The CDC states that if the risk is really high, then the vaccine is recommended.  The area she is planning on visiting has not had a yellow fever outbreak in almost 10 years.  

 

WWYD?

    She either takes the vaccine or she doesn?t.   She has talked to several people who did not received the vacci

  • In her shoes i'd talk to my mw/ob and a travel doctor (one who knows about risks and vaccines associated with travel) and decide based on their advice.

  • Why is not going on the trip off the table? I don't know any job that would risk the liability of an employee getting seriously ill like this. She should back out of the trip.
