Getting ready in the morning

I'm trying to think how it will work to have all four of us in our family out the door by 7 am starting in Sept. Alexander often sleeps until 8.  How are your kids if they have to be woken early?  Do you have any tips for organizing yourself to get everyone changed, fed, dressed and ready to go on a deadline?

Re: Getting ready in the morning

  • For us nightime prep is key.

After I put O to bed at night, I lay out all of our clothes for the next day.  I make sure the diaper bag is packed and if he needed anything else for daycare or the sitter that it is in or next to the diaper b

  • We don't do all of us out the door at the same time but we have on a few occasions. DH has to drop A off at daycare around 630 am. He is there for a long day but takes about 2 hour nap there so we just moved his bedtime up to 730 instead of 830 or 9 help

  • I agree with nighttime prep being key.  We don't all leave every day, but when we do, DH & I get up before the kids to shower & dress.  Then it's just hoping the kids don't have total meltdowns etc. to mess things up too bad.  We do
  • I have mastered the art of getting ready and out the door in the morning. I'm on my own and need to leave the house by 6:20. This is what I do:

    Prep lunches at night.

Set out my clothes. Iron if needed.

Set the coffee pot to sta

  • Mine is a little different b/c I'm on my own with both kids in the morning (H is gone by 5am).  And it's crazy b/c while K STTN it varies between 10-12 hours which means she wakes up anytime between 5-7am and can throw everything off.  I try

  • All of these suggestions are great. Also, how about slowly moving his wake time before September by putting him to bed earlier by 10 minutes for a coue weeks, then 10 more minutes etc?
We did this with Oliver... But in the opposite direction... Kept

I have our schedule set up so that we usually need to be out of the house by 9 - 9:30.  A couple of mornings
