I was told by the nurses in the hospital, that it's very important to be on a schedule of feeding my little man. They said every 3-4 hours. That just does not seem to be the way he's wired. He's 6 and a half days old, but he's only went 4 hours once, 3 hours a couple times. The others have been 2 to 2 and a half.
Except for at night, when I get him. (Wife's a morning person, I'm a night owl, neither of us work.) I didn't keep track in the hospital, but have since we've been home. Last night he went an hour and a half before getting fussy, and nothing helped, so I finally tried feeding. He latched on to that bottle fastest than I've seen yet. Tonight he went an hour before getting fussy. Two diaper changes (he doesn't like to pee and poo in the same one) then mellowed out. 5 minutes later he was fussy, and took the bottle without hesitation. So tonight it was 1 hour and 15 minutes between feedings.
He does this on milk pumped into a bottle or formula.

Thanks, I'll take a look at the link. Breastfeeding really didn't work very well when we tried at the hospital. Haven't tried at all at home, but the pump works pretty well.
The nurse told us to never feed earlier than 3 hours, and just give him

Meh, my son is almost 3 months old and he is still fed on demand. It's starting to shape into every 3 hours, but sometimes its more or less. If he is hungry I will feed him. I'm not going to let him lay around and cry because it hasn't been 3 hours. Th
Totally normal. My DD was about 2.5 hours
(Also you count the time from start of feeding to start of feeding - so if he feeds at 2:00 for 30 minutes, you count from 2:00 not 2:30)
They just don't want you to let baby go more than 3-4 hour
