Finally found...

Another book Ian will let me read to him. We read every night before bed. It always has to be Good Night Moon! He pitches a royal fit if I don't read it. I always try at least one book before that one. He always fights me...and I don't really "read" the book, it's usually silly reading...the red truck goes vroom, the duck says quack quack, look at those silly kids going round and round...stuff like that. Well, tonight, he fell in love with "There's a Zamp in My Lamp" by Dr. Seuss. I had to read it three times! Yes we ended with Good Night Moon, as usual, but he actually liked something different. Success! Note to self: find more "flap" type books.

    Yay for some variety!! I'm scared to try flap books with Brayden, I think he'll try to tear the flaps off.

    We finally found one too! This is actually the first book she's interacted with or stopped squirming to look at...The Hungry Caterpillar. She likes to put her finger in the food holes as I read. I'm so relieved she finally likes a book!!

    Flap books are great! They were the only books he'd let me read to him for a long time. Surprisingly he's never ripped a single one.

    PJ loves the flap books too!  Sadly, he isn't allowed to have them if I'm not right there with him because he does try to rip the flaps off.  He was successful once when DH was with him.  So, I am the one that reads the flap books to him

    He does love the touchy feely books.  He has 1 that is his absolute favorite, more so than Good Night Moon.  However, it's not one that I really "read" to him.  He drags that one around with him everywhere.
