maternity active swimwear?

17wks preggo. My competition swimsuit is too small now. Recommendations for maternity swimwear that holds up to lap swimming? Prefer racer back style, tankini might be more flattering (don't want bikini style, prefer belly mostly covered).

  • I also had luck at Kohls with a larger size suit. I found a supportive tankini with side rushing (to grow with my belly) that last through all 9 months.

  • I was able to wear my regular suit throughout (lycra is very stretchy)  but things got a little tight the last month.  As PPs said I would just size up.

I'm not sure if I could have "sized up" during pregnancy. My stomach was pretty large during the third trimester, and that's when swimming felt best for me. I got this suit, which worked well for lap swimming.  https://www.swimoutlet.com/product_p/

  • I wore just a regular Nike swim suit all the way until I delivered at 41 weeks last time.  I swam daily from 36 weeks to 41 weeks when I couldn't really do any other exercise.
