stripping membrane

Hello everyone I was wondering if anyone had the membrane stripped. I went to the doctor for my 38th weekly appointment and was told that they would sweep my membrane at 39 weeks if I wanted. Has anyone had this done before and did it help bring labor on faster. I'm a first time mom and would love any advice on this procedure. Thanks in advance

    Have you posted on your birth month board? Membrane stripping isn't necessarily helpful. I personally waited for labor to come naturally.

    #11 or IVF with scarring still inside?
    1 lone embryo from September 2016 retreival, dx with Trisomy 16, starting fresh
