Anemia

We just found out our DS is severely anemic. The doctors were surprised because he doesn't have any symptoms but the bloodwork doesn't lie.

I forgot to ask if this is something permanent. Does anyone know? Ill ask at our two week blood check of course but I'm curious.

Anyone have any experience with this?

Echoing PP. Both my kids were diagnosed anemic (one was so low he was actually enrolled in a study at the hospital), they took iron for months (slowly rolled back when they went on formula full time). Their levels were just checked last week -

My LO got constipated from the Iron. We found that the Enfamil brand of the multivitamins has glycerine as the first ingredient which helps to counterbalence that.

Thanks everyone. We are still waiting for all the blood test results but we are supposed to give him iron drops two times a day. The dr told us to give them with juice for the vitamin c. It was a disaster. He's never had juice and he hated it. What kid
