Cyst on back...

So I went to the doctor today about a lump on my back and the NP told me it looked like a cyst and that it needed to be drained and I needed to go on an antibiotic amoxicillin she said is class B so it's okay so Friday I have to go in to get it drained... I absolutly do not want to do this. I am calling my doctor in the morning to make sure it's okay to have the procedure performed and for me to go on the medicine... Was not wanting this to happen ugh...

Re: Cyst on back...

  • Does the cyst bother you? If not then you could propably wait on it. I know I've have a cyst on my back for a while & its fine.

  • Yeah it got inflammed last week although it doesn't hurt to bad and it's not as inflammed. I would go for the antibiotic an withholding the procedure..
  • I have had one of these before and they are not fun. To get it drained all they do is give you a shot to numb it and the lance it. I don't see how that would be dangerous while pregnant. I wouldn't let to wait. It's technically something that is infected

  • I have a cyst on my wrist that we found a couple weeks ago. My obgyn, who sees me for everything now, said they will wait for me to have the baby before doing anything to it. If its not bothering you, there's no reason to add additional medical procedures

  • I had a small one removed from my back with no meds, crazy dermatoligist just lanced it.  It did not hurt probably because I was not expecting it.  The squeezing part hurt though.  I clear everything by my ob now though.  Good luck!

  • I'm a med aide. On of my residents gets cysts on his back. His dr doesn't drain them until we've done a week or two of puting TAO on it :triple antibiotic ointment: fwiw, they almost always break the skin and drain on their own within a week. Client says
