Car Seat

My son is 5 months old.  When can I buy the next car seat (the convertible car seat?) .  I feel like he's getting too big and wont last too much longer in the infant seat..any suggestions?

    Ditto PP. Also, keep in mind you can leave the carrier portion clipped into the base, and just carry LO in and out of the seat if it is just that they're too heavy to lug around in it.

    You can get it whenever you want.  They can go in convertible carseats when they are born. 

    We have a graco myride 65. 

    You can also leave the infant seat in the base in your car if you only use 1 car for the baby.&nbsp

    Ditto whenever you want. I switched around 6 months with my oldest. He started sitting up on his own at 5 months, and I wasn't taking the whole carseat out at places anymore... so I was ready to give it up because I wasn't using that convenience a

    Convertible seats can be used from birth. I would wait until he is sitting up well though because if he's not in the carrier he will need to be able to sit in a high chair, shopping cart, etc. We switched to a convertible seat around 9 months with DS

    You can use almost any convertible seat right from birth. 

    We're planning on getting one soon because my son hates his infant seat :( but he is no where near grown out of it.

    DD hates her infant seat, we will be getting a convertible once it is warmer outside and I won't have to worry about her being cold when taking her out of the car. (we have a blanket cover thing on her infant seat)
