Fever-Upper Respiratory Infection

I took my 8 month old to the ER on Sat. because he was shaking and had a fever. They diagnosis him with an Upper Respiratory Infection. When I call his pediatrician this morning to make an appointment they said I should have called the after-hours on call doctor and since I didn't do that they can drop him from the clinic and cut off his medicaid. I never heard this before. When he was shaking I just immediately got scared and took him, to the ER. Has anyone heard of losing services for taking child to ER.

    It sounds like something they would do if you habitually do it. I would not worry too much, just handle it like an adult, and ask if you can get clarification as to what warrants a call to the doc vs a visit to the ER. For example, ask what temperature of
