How to introduce new food?

I have made the mistake of getting lazy and feeding my 15-month-old a lot of the same easy foods for a few months (avocado sandwiches, gerber meat links, frozen peas, carrots and corn and a broad array of fruit plus a variety of dairy).  This has made her overly hesitant to try new foods, especially cooked foods from recipes.  Any advice?  If I put it on her tray and she pushes it away what do I do?   TIA!

  • at every single meal you offer your child, put things that are new to her on her tray. if she pushes it away, try again the next meal. it might take weeks of exposure but eventually she will try. if she just plays with whatever you give, take that as a

  • Serve her the same foods you eat.  Let her see you eat them a few times.  Offer her those foods right off your plate.  And then keep introducing new foods to yourself.

  • I saw another bumpie suggest getting your child to lick the food if they can.  The might not eat it at first, but they are getting a taste of it, which might help them to accept the new food a bit quicker.
