Bleeding after sex... (long)

This weekend I had a really scary experience.  After DH and I had done the deed, I experienced some bleeding (not spotting!).  I was terrified, and to add to the drama, I was 300 miles away from home and my Doc!    I didn't have any cramping or anything, but it seemed like alot of blood!  I called the emergency Doc line, and they advised that I go to the hospital (I think they have to say that).  Luckily, I was with my cousin who is a nurse practicioner... she took my blood pressure, it was normal, and told me to lay down for 30 min on my left side and see if the bleeding would stop before I decided to go to the ER.  Well it did, and the baby was moving/kicking the whole time, so I felt confident enough to not have to go to the hospital.  The conlusion she came up with was that my cervix is just extra sensitive, and since I am preggers, its all so much more vascular down there.  I have an appointment with my Doc today at 2pm... just to follow up, check on the baby.. who is still very active and up to his usual antics, and see what kind of instructions she'll give me.  I know nookie is off the table for a little while at least, and I'm totally fine with that... but holy cow... how scary!!

    My OB told me last week at my 28 week appt. no intercourse until after week 34. Preterm labor I believe is the reasoning. I'm sure that your OB will give you the all clear today that LO is fine. Better safe than...

    Thats good to know, and fine by me!  This baby needs to cook as long as possible!

    Very scary, it happened to me around 14 weeks. I was on pelvic rest for a week and everything has been good since then.

    Just got back from my appt.  Baby looks great, placenta is where it should be, and he's actually already hanging out head down!  The bleeding was due to an extremely sensitive cervix, and I was put on 2 weeks pelvic rest.  I feel so much be
