Pregnant after 35

33 week appointment

So I had my OB appointment today and I'm somewhat relieved to say that everything is going Ok so far.  Preeclampsia has not reared its ugly head (at least, not yet).  I made them redo my blood pressure though - they took it right after I walked in and it was 118/65.  I told the NP that that's not normal for me so when we finished the appointment, she took it again and it was 102/60, which is normal for me.  Whew!  Everything else looked good too.  Interestingly, my belly is measuring right on time this pregnancy, whereas with DD it was always a couple of weeks behind.  I wonder if that's because my abs are not as strong?  LOL.  Maybe the baby is just bigger.  Last time we assumed it was behind because I'm tall (5'10"), but DD was a smallish baby too, at least in weight.

I'm a a little swollen in my feet/ankles, so we're watching it but it won't become a concern unless it gets up to my thighs, in my face, etc like it did last time.  I'm feeling pretty good and have been able to continue my regular exercise program so far.

How is everyone else doing?

  • Wow, your normal BP is 102/60? That's awesome! I've been hanging out in the 110/70 range, but it has been nice and steady the whole way through.

  • Thanks ladies, I will keep trying to hang in.  I think I can make it through the pregnancy, it's afterwards that I'm not so sure about these days.
