I put my kid on a leash today.
The St. Patrick's Day Parade was held downtown today. 100,000 drunken people. And I had to be there for my job. Of course DH and my sister helped with DD, but between all the crazies and traffic and the oh so tempting canal of water I knew a leash was our best bet.
This may be an UO. Leashing a toddler is a fantastic thing for large crowds. I didn't have to worry that she would get into anything dangerous if I was distracted ( I WAS working, which for my job meant snapping pictures)
Of course I overheard lots of people talked about the leash when they saw her. And comments ran the gamut between "I was leashed as a kid" and "OMG, how awful!"
Have you ladies needed to leash your kid yet?
Re: Leashing your toddler
I have one and have used it - it's one that goes on his wrist. I mostly used it at the airport. It comes in really handy when going through security.
I haven't used it for awhile, but I put it back in the diaper bag because DS is a serious runner
No judging here, that's for sure. Just because I haven't needed one yet doesn't mean I never will.
Love the picture, too
My lil g is a runner and says hi to every stranger on the street. I plan on getting one, I dont care what anyone thinks. For flucks sakes, I cant count how many times I have wanted to tell parents to put their kid on a le
I will leash my kid unabashedly. The only shame in leashing a kid lies in dragging them around like some parents do. I leash my kids to keep them safe when they want to be where the action is and feel "big" and don't want mommy messin' up t

Btw, really cute pic!!!
We haven't been in a situation where we need a leash yet, but we have no problem with them and will get one if the need arises. DD thinks it's hilarious to run away from us, so if we're going to be in a big crowd (i.e. a busy zoo trip in the spri
Way to go! She is cute :
Before I had kids, I would give you the side-eye. Now, no judgment whatsoever.
I should buy a backpack lease for DD...she likes to go, go, go, and she is getting way too heavy to carry.
