baby sleeping too much

I know babies sleep more from growth spurts. How much is too much?

  • I don't have an answer to this either, but I've noticed the past two days that DD has been taking much longer naps (like 4 hours) and eating a ton when she's awake. I figure it's a growth spurt, but I'd be curious to hear from some other moms.

    BFP1: DD1 born April 2011 at 34w1d via unplanned c/s due to HELLP, DVT 1 week PP
    BFP2: 3/18/12, blighted ovum, natural m/c @ 7w4d
    BFP3: DD2 born Feb 2013 at 38w4d via unplanned RCS due to uterine dehiscence

  • I am not used to this.  Dd is allergic to sleep. At 2, I am lucky if I can get her to sleep 10 hours a day.   I guess I was just concerned because he is sleeping so much more than normal for about 3 days now.   But we've been busy with lots
  • "Normal" for a baby is to sleep 18 hours a day and be awake for 6 (this counts awake time during feedings and diaper changes).  But every baby is different and some need more or less.
