My DH and I have had our names picked out for years. We have always said Aidrian Taylor for a boy and LiliMae Lynn for a girl. Most of my family like the names. I have a couple who say the boy name seems more like a girls...but my MIL HATES them. In fact, she was completely against us having a baby, she is coming around, but still doesn't want us to buy anything for the baby. Anyway, ever since MIL stated her displeasure with the names, DH seems to be questioning them. What do you feel about the names? And should I try to change them to make MIL happy since that would make DH happy, or just look at it as its my baby, I pick the name?
Re: Advice on my names?
It's you and your husband's decision on naming baby. MIL has no say.
I like Adrian spelling better. Although Adrian is a boy name, I only know girls with that name and boy and girl Taylors, so you might want to think about that.

Your DH should be happy with the names, but your MIL's opinions don't matter. My mom doesn't like the name DH and I have picked out for a future daughter, but I don't care because I love it.

Your choice of course
It sounds like your MIL is just unhappy as a whole. She will just have to get used to the names you and your DH choose.
As for the names themselves...I love Adrian on a boy. It sounds masculine to me. However, I don't like the way you have it s
I don't like the spelling of Aidrian, but Adrian is nice. LiliMae Lynn is NMS. I like Lily, but it's the smoosh with Mae that loses me.
Regardless of what anyone thinks about your names, it's your kid, your choice.

I can understand their disdain for the names, if you told them that you were misspelling them.
That being said, it's none of her business.
But really, rethink those spellings. I mean, why purposefully misspell names like that?
Adrian Taylor is fine but could be confusing as both names are unisex. Picking one and pairing it with a masculine name would ease the confusion.
