Hi ladies! Not really sure what to say about myself. DH and I have been together since college, married since October 2010. The last year or so, I've had some serious babies on the brain. It just hasn't been the right time.

A little about us... DH teaches biology full time at a major university, and I work full time doing in-home health care. I work for a college student who's paralyzed from the shoulders down. He has limited use of his arms/ hands, but no control or feeling in the rest of his body. So he needs someone around to help him with everyday stuff. This is the first time since we've been dating/ married that BOTH of us have jobs we genuinely enjoy.

This past Thanksgiving, I was having horrible cramps around the time I would have gotten my period. Then I got what I thought was my period, but something was obviously not right. I went to the doctor & it turned out I was six weeks along and had miscarried. I was shocked. DH and I hadn't been trying. We use birth control (condoms) 100% of the time, so it was completely unexpected. Regardless, we were both so sad. Actually, DH was so sad. I was devastated. I still get sad sometimes, just out of nowhere. I wonder if that will ever go away.

ANYWAY, DH and I have been talking more lately about TTC. We have no immediate plans, and there's plenty to figure out and get in order before then. But I'm feeling pretty positive because he used to act like it was in the waaaay distant future, and now he brings it up in conversations probably more than I do. He points out cute babies in public, and we've talked about names. It's so cute to see him getting excited about the idea.

Anyway, I LOVED posting on the knot years ago when I was engaged, got over the nest pretty quick because there were some seriously dramatic bored newlyweds over there, and I figure this could be a fun place to share experiences and make some new girlfriends (I don't know many people our town). So hey guys! My name is Sara, and I've got babies on the brain!
