LO is 6 months and starting to outgrow his infant car seat. i have a Safety 1st convertible seat but am starting to about our next move. right now, things work out great with the infant carrier - I have a base, DH has a base and grandma has a base since we all take turns lugging LO around for pick up /drop off. will we all need individual convertible seats? are there convertible seats that have a "base" feature like the infant carriers?

There is one convertible seat on the market that has a base feature, the graco smartseat, but I wouldn't recommend it for a few reasons.
1) It's really expensive. You're better off buying either 3 budget seats or 1 plush seat for the car most use
Ditto Penguin. Also, seat choice is easier to make knowing budget, cars and lo's stats. If lo is on the tall side, the first four in Penguins lists are probably better suited (so, like 50th %ile and above). All of these also do well in tight spaces. Ju
thanks for all the reccommendations . i actually hadn't thought about physically moving the seat- guess i'm so much in infant carrier mode, i didn't consider how much more of a pain it would be.
