Before I begin I will admit I am on that special time of the month so I'm probably more pissy than normal.
My dad lives about 3 1/2-4 hours away and he ALWAYS thinks we should drive to see him instead of him and his wife coming here. I explain how much work it is to pack up DS and go for a weekend and him be out of his element but he still says the same thing every time. It drives me nuts, I'm to the point of just saying well if you want to see your grandson you will come up here. We went to our hometown 2 weeks ago for my great grandma's birthday and spent $250 for one night because of gas, hotel, food and dog boarding. He's nuts if he thinks I'm doing that anytime soon, we just bought a house and I stay home with DS, we don't have a ton of money to throw around all the time. Urgh. Happy friday.

It is a lot of work to pack up your kid, but try to remember that your parents are not going to be here forever. DH's mom drives me nuts sometimes and a 4 hour drive with a toddler isn't my cup of tea, but we make it a point to visit often, even
