Tell me about naps...

Do you keep LO's room dark during nap time, or no?

I'm starting to worry about bay/night confusion, since W takes some long naps during the day (sometimes) and wakes frequently at night (sometimes).  I have blackout curtains in there, but maybe I shouldn't use them during the day?

  • We have curtains up that darken the room but don't black out. They let in enough light to know it's daytime but not so much to keep Hallie awake.

  • K is like her daddy and grandma. They can sleep no matter what is going on or what the light conditions happen to be. I got lucky with that one, because I have always been a light sleeper.

  • I don't hide any light for naps and he's fine. He usually does a one hour morning nap, a 45min-hour nap so I can eat lunch, and a longer 2-3 hour late afternoon nap fairly easily. And then I put him down to sleep at night in pitch black around 9:30p and h

  • I was actually just about to start turning the lights off in his room during the day for naps.

I've been leaving all lights on.

  • Thanks everyone! I think I'm going to start leaving the curtains open during the day. I know I shouldn't complain about his super long naps, usually 2 to 3 hours, but I think it's affecting his nighttime sleep.

  • I can't imagine having lights on in LO's room during naps. He's been "awake" to the world since about 2.5 months and is veeery easily stimulated. I draw blackout curtains during naps and use a white noise machine for naps and nighttime. If I need him t
