Pain in lower left side

I'm 5 weeks pregnant with our first child and I've been experiencing pain on the left side of my lower abdomen. It usually starts after I've been on my feet for a bit and it's always on my left side. This evening I started having the same pain, but I was sitting down and then started getting cramps in the center of my lower abdomen. They felt similar to menstrual cramps and lasted less than a minute. Has anyone else been experiencing this? Thanks for the feedback! xo

  • I'm not doctor here but a lot of times you can have pain on the side you ovulated from for a while. Or it could be your uterus stretching. You're going to feel a lot of odd things during pregnancy, most of which are completely normal.

  • I had the same at 5 weeks, and everything was fine. If you have any spotting or the pain starts bothering you more, go get it checked out. It's worth the peace of mind.

  • With my first I had a lot of pain on one side. The doctor said it was likely the side I ovulated from. Unless there is blood, cramping typically just indicates all the stretching going on in there!
  • Thank you so much everyone! I'm seeing my doctor tomorrow, but knowing that others have experienced the same gives me a some peace of mind. I appreciate your feedback. By this time tomorrow we'll know if our little baby has a heartbeat. Wishing and prayin
