AW: Yay for a good growth u/s!

So I had my growth u/s this afternoon. I was scared to death they were going to say something ridiculous, like "You are growing a 12-pounder, oh NOEZ we must section him now!!11!!" However, they didn't. (Phew!) He's measuring in the 43rd percentile, about 6 1/2 pounds, and his GA is 36w4d (just one day off!), so the little guy is almost exactly on target to be baked at 40 weeks.

My big brag is that they graded my placenta a 1 when most people only get a 2 at this stage of the game. (The scale runs from 0-3, with 0 being a new and young placenta and a 3 a cruddy end-of-pregnancy/not in very good shape anymore placenta. Apparently most people past 35 weeks only get a grade of 2.)

So yeah, I am strutting around feeling pretty darn good about myself right now. Party!!!

    That is great and I know a relief. They never mentioned my placenta at my growth u/s but I have another on Monday so I will be sure to ask. My doc says the placenta can give out with us oldies so you are doing awesome!

    So glad you had a great scan!  Didn't know about the placenta grading, so thanks for the info!  Strut your stuff over that 1 grade, you go girl!!

    Congrats on a great ultrasound (and a stellar placenta)!  I don't know how accurate their estimates are this late in the game anyways.  I can't tell you how many ladies I've known who are told they're having small babies only to push out 9 or 10
