High-Risk Pregnancy

Diabetes and Pregnancy

Hi I didnt know where to put this thread...

Well my husband and I have been together for almost 3 years and have had unprotected sex ever since the beginning with no luck of pregnancy until last week when we had a chemical miscarriage. My husband is a type 2 diabetic since 2004...So my question to you is,Can diabetes cause miscarriages or any other pregnancy problems? Have any of you carried a pregnancy full term and delivered healthy little peas.Any advice would be helpful. TIA.

  • I have heard of male diabetics with some complications if they are not in good control. More to do with low libido.

  • If you and DH are actively trying I would suggest talking to a specialist. I also recommend the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility". There is a lot more to timing than I ever realized before I read this.

  • Thanks everyone. Just to clarify. I understand that alot of diabetic men may have issues with ED but my husband doesn't have much of that issue. We will be talking to my doctor soon. But my question is...Do diabetic sperm have anything to do with m/c?
