Non-Walkers check in please

My son will be 14 months on Saturday.  He's still not walking.  I know he'll walk when he's ready but I just need some affirmation that he is not the only one not walking yet.

  • Though my son is currently walking at 20 months, I can attest to the fact that he didn't start walking until a couple of days before his 15 month appointment. So I agree with PP, it can be completely normal.

  • My son didn't walk until he was 15 months old. Don't worry! Now he's 17 months and never looked back!

  • My daughter is 14 months and not walking. She doesn't even crawl very well. She has only just started to try to pull herself up.  She gets around very fast with a sort of butt scooch and is into everything.  Pedi said not to worry as long as we

  • DD is just shy of 16m and isn't walking yet. Our Pedi doesn't do a 15m appt so I really don't know what they would say about it but I know plenty of kids don't walk until 18m so I am not too worried but I am definitely fed up with people asking "is she wa

  • My daughter is a little over 15 months and not walking.  At her 15 month appointment, the doctor was not concerned.  She definitely seems to have the ability but just isn't ready.

  • My daughter will turn a year old on Sunday. She didn't start crawling until the week before she turned 11 months, and it was less than 2 weeks ago that she started to pull herself up to standing. Now she can stand if she's holding on to something (side

  • It is completely normal! My DD didn't start walking until about a week before the 14 month mark, but I know so many other children who are over 14 months and still not walking so do not worry! Just make sure you practice a lot and give tons of encourageme
  • My daughter is just over 15 months old and she isn't walking yet.  She will take about 4 or 5 steps and then sits down. We see the ped. the end of April.  I'm hoping she'll be walking by then...I agree...definitely tired of people asking if she'
  • Ooh you sound like me! My LO is 14 months and he is cruising like crazy, and will walk if we hold his hands and walk with him but the minute he even 'thinks' you will let go, down to his knees he goes.....don't worry it will happen before you know it and

  • Your son is totally normal! My DD is 16 months and has just started walking this week...meaning she will walk from the ottoman to the coffee table, etc and still likes to crawl a lot. She is an "efficient crawler" so she gets everywhere fast is she cra

  • Rowan just passed the 13 month mark, and is still not walking. She didn't start pulling herself up to standing dependably until about a week after her first birthday (though she was an expert at it by the end of the day) and is just now starting to cru

  • My DD just started walking last week at 13.5 months. She's been pulling up and cruising since 9.5 months. For what it's worth, my younger brother didn't walk until he was almost 19 months old. There is nothing wrong with him developmentally or otherwise,

  • Totally normal! My DD didn't walk until just before 16m. I think as far as being considered "behind", they like to see a child walking by 18m.
