Flossing & LO

Do you floss LO's teeth?

I was making a dentist appointment for myself with a new dental office and decided to poke around on their website.

They had a link to the Crest website that suggests to start flossing when two teeth start touching.

I can barely get DS to sit still long enough to brush his teeth... much less floss them! All of DS's front teeth touch... but flossing isn't really something I thought about until I clicked the link.

Re: Flossing & LO

  • No flossing here, I don't think that would go over well. I struggle with what I call brushing.

I'm also not sure how much her teeth touch...I'm sure some of them do. I'll have to do a mouth check tonight.

  • All of her front teeth touch but I'm happy if I can get her to cooperate long enough to brush them. I can't even imagine trying to floss. Plus, if I stick a finger in her mouth she immediately clamps down and does not let up.

  • Um...no. That would not go over well. She does have pretty good spacing between her teeth though

  • LOL!

Did the person who recommended that have children??

No way I could floss her teeth.

  • We have the little flossers with a handle.  I wish I could say I'm more regular with it.  Actually if DD sees me flossing she starts getting excited & then I have to do hers.  She loves it!

  • My dentist gave me a toothbrush (nice!) and floss (hahaha) for V at my last appointment.  I thought the floss was pretty crazy.  We will be waiting a bit for that one.

  • I only started flossing my kids teeth when they were about 5 years old or so.  Our dentist never suggested it before that.  We did on occasion floss DS#1's teeth if he had a piece of food stuck between them but other than that not regularly u
