Who remembers my crazy neighbor?

Who remembers The story of my crazy neighbor kicking my puggle acting nuts about my other 10 pound dog? Then, when I made Liam apologize about letting her out he called me a "dumb woman". My male neighbor in his late 20's came over to tell him to be kind to me because we were saying sorry. He threw his garden tools down that he was working with and asked him if he wanted to fight? He ran over two dogs then threatened them with a letter saying he was going to sue them for damages to his car? Remember this story?

Well, he IS crazy or suffering from some kind of Alzheimer's. Last week my other neighbor was out of town. Their teenaged daughter was sitting on the couch with a sitter, they aren't good about locking the door because the poe poe here are pretty intense. My crazy neighbor walked in their door with Skyline, Cincinnati chili, and walked all around the house looking confused before their daughter said, "why are you here?" to which he replied, "I think I live two doors down." and left.

Crazy, crazy, crazy. My doors have been more carefully locked now.

Re: Who remembers my crazy neighbor?

  • This is actually tragically sad. Alzheimer's can rob otherwise nice, normal people, of their faculties in odd ways. Is there any way I can convince you to call adult social services on his behalf? If he doesn't have family, he needs to be on their radar.

  • That's really scary - I would definitely try to get in touch with another family member to make sure they know what's going on. We didn't know how bad my grandpa was getting until his neighbors started calling us.

  • Creepy!

I tend to get really relaxed about leaving the doors unlocked when we're home, and even sometimes when we go for a walk around the block.  Then I read something like this and it's a really good reminder that while we "know" most of o

We never lock our doors during the day, unless we will be away from the house overnight. Should probably rethink that.
