My granddaughter is almost 8 months, and she wakes up 3-6 times a night, and it seems she doesn't know how to self soothe. The only way she'll fall asleep is if she gets a bottle, which she sucks on a couple times and falls back to sleep. She doesn't use a pacifier. This has been going on for almost 2 months, so I'm pretty certain it isn't teething or just a growth spurt, because it's all the time. Also, she eats solids 3 times a day and also drinks her formula., We have tried to use water in her bottle at night but that just seems to piss her off and make her less likely to go back to sleep. She has her own crib, but has slept in a swing for the first 6 months because of breathing problems. When she sleeps in her crib, or in bed with mom or grandma she wakes up. I lay her in her pack and play for a nap and she takes 1/2 hr nap twice a day. She fights sleep 99% of the time ...Any suggestions on getting her to self soothe and sleep all night??
Re: 8 month old not wanting to sleeping
Ditto that.
I agree with PP.... although I tried CIO and DD screamed in bed for 1.5 hours... I caved in completely. I just couldn't take it. So we have done a hybrid where I let her cry for up to 15 minutes. If she is still crying I go in and fee
