Separation anxiety

in Babies: 6 - 9 Months
My DD is so attached to me. I can't leave her in the room alone for a minute without her crying like crazy. I love that she is attached to me but not to this degree. What can I do to help her become a little bit more independent. If we're around other people she's ok but she still looks to make sure I'm right there. Any advice. Thanks ladies!

    I'm going through the same thing with my 7 month old.  It's getting real annoying.

    Just a phase. It passes.

    At this age, in a baby's mind, when you leave the room they think you're not coming back. Eventually they'll figure out when mom leaves, she comes back.

    I am going through the same thing right now. It's hard because we are visiting family right now and thry want to hold her and play with her. I want to let them ... But Mama gets no break! I think it is just a phase that many babies go through around 61
